Are people blogging anymore? I’m honestly so out of touch that I don’t even know. But! There are so many photos from this fall that I want to share, and this seems like the best way, so I’m going to do it regardless.

I’ve been photographing the Pyle Family since I started out. This family {among so many others} trusted me when I barely had a portfolio! And for that, I am so grateful. For them. For the opportunity they gave me to grow. Personally and professionally.

They’re outfits coordinated well as always and their energy kept me on my toes, in the best way :) Enjoy these cuties!

Thanks for making it to the end! Would you do me a favor and spread the love? Share this blogpost or write a comment or even just hit “like!”— especially if seeing more of this season’s work is something you’re interested in!

the summer seems to have wrapped up according to my schedule but the weather keeps on being warm, which means these days I'm over dressed with layers and that leave me much too warm... anyone else out there loves their fall wardrobe the best?

The Pyle Family chose me again this year for family photographs and I could not be more honored + thrilled to spend another hour with them! I absolutely love reconnecting with clients {friends!} year after year! This fall has been a really fun combination of new faces and familiar ones-- I love the excitement of meeting new friends and the ease that tends to come with reconnecting with old ones.

Nichole brought balloons along to have a mini birthday shoot within their family session for Justine, who turns one this month. The balloons and the light and her smile came together to make something beautiful, and I do believe this milestone will be remembered and celebrated with these images for years to come!

Also, the "one" romper seen on Justine + the quilts used were all made by Nichole! Isn't she amazing?!

Thanks for inviting me into this season of life, Pyle family!

evie k at six months | ann arbor, michigan

One of my favorite sessions from the last month is this one right here.

Evie K was so so sweet, smiley and giggly for the camera. She loved grabbing her feet, as you'll see, and showing off her big blue eyes. We met in the peony garden at the Nicholas Arboretum and took advantage of the hot day and green backdrop. Seeing my clients' littles grow is such a joy, and being trusted to document it is something I cherish.

Enjoy these sweet moments.

Thanks for stopping by!

I met little Evie {pronounced E-V} when she was just 10 days old. That seems to be, to the day, the time I meet most of my little newborn models. The timing is the perfect pause to capture lifestyle images like the ones you'll see in this post. And on those days, during the session, I feel as though I can't quite express how grateful I am that their parents invite me into their home during such a new, sweet time. Hear me here-- I am SO grateful. I love photographing new life, new parents, new families.

It was an extra-snuggles-required type of day for Evie, which I always welcome. You'll see lots of images with her wrapped up in mom or dad's arms-- the perfect backdrop for a peaceful baby.

Chelsea and Justin, enjoy your sweet little one. Thank you for inviting me in to capture some of the first memories with your daughter!

The Pyle Family {Ann Arbor, MI}

Taking a break from editing {and chasing around my littles} to bring you images of this sweet family.

Fall has always been my favorite time of year, mainly because of my birthday. But as I got older, it became more about the way hot coffee fit perfectly in my hand at all times of the day, the way the leaves change, and the sweaters. Oh, how I love sweaters!

This year, it's the family photo sessions filling up my schedule that make fall my favorite. All the other things still apply. But this addition really takes the cake!

The Pyle Family just recently welcomed baby Justine into the family, and this sweet outdoor session with the new family of five was a lovely addition to my fall sessions. Now back to editing!

The O Family {Ann Arbor, MI}

I lived in the same city {and went to the same church!} as this family for nearly five years, and we never met. Now, years later, they hired me to take their family photos and I'm bewildered as to why this was our first meeting! They are so admirable and loving and fun, I didn't want our time together to end.

Their session was on a welcomed warm October afternoon. Mid shoot, the seven of us had to take cover under a tree as it poured for several minutes. It took us all by surprise! But the gray cloud moved on and the sun even broke through for the last few minutes. It was the perfect day for the challenge of capturing six smiling faces at one time.

After the shoot was my favorite-- like old friends, they wanted to treat me to frozen yogurt for driving all that way {!!!}. I of course couldn't pass that up and happily joined them. Getting to know them more was the best part. Thank you O Family for making me feel so loved! I'm so glad we finally met!
